What is "Goodnight Burbank"?
Go behind the scenes and between the headlines to see what makes news such a dog-eat-dog business and why the ultimate victim is the viewer. And because all the news is 100% genuine it's that much more compelling.
The show's free to watch - you don't need a video iPod to watch (although go buy one - they're cool). But we heartily encourage you to subscribe via iTunes (again, it's free. There's even a link provided for you!). That way, each time there's a new episode, it will download automatically and hassle-free. If you like the show, please forward the link to your friends and family.
What the Critics Say
Funny...Well done. It's a lot better than 99% of the stuff on TV. - Peter Johnson, USA Today Bracingly funny. A wicked satire a la the Larry Sanders Show. Competitive with the very best that networks have to offer ...the Seinfeld of the next decade? One of my favorite shows... - Walt Mossberg, Wall Street Journal Best of the Web - TV Guide A masterclass in how to make quality comedy TV on a tiny budget. Addictive comic nonsense, in Burbank or anywhere else. The Murphy Brown of this millenium Another winner. Think "Studio 60" with a "Daily Show" edge. - Ellen Lee, San Francisco Chronicle ...brilliantly satirises local US TV news and would not look out of place on a network. - BBC News ...thoroughly entertaining. - Hollywood Reporter Hayden Black could give David Letterman a run for his money. Goodnight Burbank is a hybrid between Ricky Gervais and Jon Stewart - and it's really, really funny. A beautifully written and excellently performed comedy series, Goodnight Burbank ostensibly shows a nightly newscast broadcasting out of California. But this is more a comedy of relationships, as the dysfunctional co-anchors spar and joust, both during the broadcast and in off-air moments. It's an excellent format that's perfect for a video podcast, and Hayden Black, who write and acts, has something of the "Ricky Gervais" about him. His two co-stars are also perfectly cast, and the whole series is outstanding. Behind the Scenes at GNB
Goodnight Burbank was featured recently in "That's So Hollywood", an entertainment magazine that airs on Fox here in Los Angeles. The cast was interviewed by the beautiful Amy Murphy - and you can check it out right here. |
